英語で「What do you think…?」の後には、以下の形式を使うことが一般的です。その形と意味を説明します。
1. “What do you think + 主語 + 動詞?”

この形では具体的な内容は含まれていないので、状況や会話の流れが明確なときに使います。

「of」は、短い感想や全体的な印象を求めるときに使います。

「How do you think」は、考え方やプロセスを尋ねるときに使います。ただし、日常会話で使われる頻度は低めです。
構文のパターン
相手に「方法（How）」や「プロセス」についての推測・意見を尋ねる形です。
ニュアンスと使いどころ
「What do you think?」が結論や良し悪し（何、どう）を聞くのに対し、How を使う場合は「仕組み・背景・方法」に焦点が当たります。
- 思考のプロセスを深掘りする 「なぜそうなったのか」「どういう仕組みで動いているのか」といった、相手の分析や洞察を聞き出したいときに最適です。

「How do you think」は「方法・理由・プロセス」の議論に

ポイント
「What do you think?」をそのまま使う場合
ビジネスシーンにおいて、“What do you think?” は決して失礼な表現ではありません。
会議中のテンポの良いやり取りや、気心の知れたチームメンバー間では、簡潔に意見を求める言葉として非常に一般的です。
ただし、クライアントや役職の高い相手に対しては、より配慮の感じられる丁寧なフレーズに言い換えるのがスマートです。
